The following is a list of sponsors who
generously support the WYO.
- Michael and Irene Baron Scholarship in Memory of their daughter
Colleen: Mr. and Mrs. Michael Baron have donated a scholarship
to the WYO in memory of their only daughter Colleen Joy who passed
away October 2004 at the age of 42. Colleen was born and educated in
Winnipeg, but with her husband and two children moved to Victoria BC
in 1992 where she focused her energies on working with underpriveleged
children. She published a book "Do I Have a Story to Tell"
about her religious faith, philosophy, and commitment to the poor.
Colleen was an accomplished musician and played the harp, piano,
accordion, flute, and saxophone. The "Michael and Irene Baron
Scholarship in Memory of their daughter Colleen" will be presented
each year to the recipient of the first place award in the Scholarship
Competition at the Junior Level.

The
Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has made a generous donation through the
"RBC Community Leadership Award" which will be used to
establish an annual Long Service Recognition Award. This will
be given out at the
Sounds of Spring Concert, with recipients chosen according to the
following criteria:

The musician has been a member of the Winnipeg Youth Orchestras for
a combined total of at least five (5) years and with at least two (2) years
with the Youth Symphony Orchestra.

The member must be in their final year of high school (grade 12).

For string players, the member must have played in all three orchestras
(Youth Strings, Youth Concert Orchestras and the Youth Symphony Orchestra).

For woodwind, brass and percussion players, the member must have
played in the Youth Concert Orchestra as well as the Youth Symphony Orchestra.
There would be no limit to the number of members who could receive this award
each year, provided the criteria are met. The maximum award amount per recipient is
$200, and a recipient cannot receive this award more than once.
- The
University Women's Club of Winnipeg provides
sponsorship of the first place prize for the
Intermediate Division of the Scholarship Competition.
- Assiniboine Credit Union in support of the Sounds of Spring Concert
- The Kuhl Foundation in support of a Masterclass Program
- Manitoba Hydro donates the trophy for the Senior Division and provides sponsorship for the Scholarship Competition.

The Winnipeg School Division provides ongoing support and commitment to the Winnipeg Youth Orchestras.

The
Winnipeg Arts Council supports the
Winnipeg Youth Orchestra with an annual operating
grant.

McDonald's, who provided support for the
Youth String's Christmas concert tour.

The Centennial Concert Hall,
for support with the Sounds of Spring Concert.
